"Brooklyn and Brew 66" by Thom Zehrfeld
A little nostalgia with the old Brooklyn Dodgers! When baseball was baseball! The Brooklyn Dodgers, as the Brooklyn Dodgers, in New York were active in major league baseball from 1884 until 1957. The team's nickname came from those Brooklyn residents who were dodging the new electric trolley cars in 1892 vs the old horse-drawn ones. In 1913, the Dodgers moved from to Ebbets Field in Flatbush. The Brooklyn Dodgers are noted for signing Jackie Robinson in 1947. He was the first Afro-American in the major leagues. This Dodgers jacket was found in an Inn on the Oregon Coast! And, let's not forget Sick's Brew 66. At one time it was brewed in Salem, Oregon. This image has been converted to a digital painting.

Thom Zehrfeld lives in Newport, Oregon on the Central Coast and, is fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful spots in Oregon! The ocean, the beach, the sea's fresh air naturally inspires his art! There is always something exciting to capture with a camera! However, it's not all seascapes...Thom likes capturing automobiles, trucks, motorcycles. And, he travels many places to do just that! He uses mostly color, adding textures and, lately has gone head first into digital painting...giving some photos a dimension that allows for a very unique look. Photography awards include the “McLoughlin Promenade” which is displayed at the Clackamas County Historical Museum in Oregon City. Also, he has won the Springbok National...
