Artist's Description

"A Snappy Looking 1937 Packard Convertible" by Thom Zehrfeld

Welcome to my fine art photography site! Packard was an outstanding luxury automobile produced from 1899 to 1958. Pictured is a 1937 Packard Convertible.

Probably Packard would still be around today if they had not bought Studebaker in the fifties to compete with Chevrolet...a major mistake that put them out of business. Most folks don't know that Packard outsold Cadillac until about 1950.

This image has been converted to High Dynamic Range (HDR) by combining three different exposures to give the image more detail and color, and then incorporating a unique painted effect.

About Thom Zehrfeld

Thom Zehrfeld

Thom Zehrfeld lives in Newport, Oregon on the Central Coast and, is fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful spots in Oregon! The ocean, the beach, the sea's fresh air naturally inspires his art! There is always something exciting to capture with a camera! However, it's not all seascapes...Thom likes capturing automobiles, trucks, motorcycles. And, he travels many places to do just that! He uses mostly color, adding textures and, lately has gone head first into digital painting...giving some photos a dimension that allows for a very unique look. Photography awards include the “McLoughlin Promenade” which is displayed at the Clackamas County Historical Museum in Oregon City. Also, he has won the Springbok National...
