"Cape Meares Neon Lighthouse" by Thom Zehrfeld
Cape Meares Lighthouse is the shortest lighthouse (38 feet tall) on the Oregon Coast. One of the reasons is that it sits up some 200 feet above the Pacific Ocean and can be seen for miles out at sea.
It is situated almost 7 miles, due west from Tillamook...the "Land of super great cheese and happy, happy cows". Although, it is one cool lighthouse it may not be the most visited because it is somewhat remote and tourist may have a hard time finding it.
I have other versions of this same lighthouse on my site. However, I couldn't resist turning this image into a "neon" presentation. The Pacific Ocean is in the background but, it is not apparent except for a few lines where the horizon is.
This image has been converted to High Dynamic Range (HDR) by combining three different exposures to give the image more detail and color, and then incorporating a unique painted effect.
