The Purple Swing and this Victorian-Queen Anne style house are located in Dallas, Oregon. The town is located west of Salem.
It is a quaint place and the county seat of Polk County. Dallas was settled in the 1840s and originally named Cynthiana, after the place in Kentucky. The name was later changed to Dallas in honor of Vice President George Mifflin Dallas.
The town is located smack dab in the middle of the Willamette Valley.

Thom Zehrfeld lives in Newport, Oregon on the Central Coast and, is fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful spots in Oregon! The ocean, the beach, the sea's fresh air naturally inspires his art! There is always something exciting to capture with a camera! However, it's not all seascapes...Thom likes capturing automobiles, trucks, motorcycles. And, he travels many places to do just that! He uses mostly color, adding textures and, lately has gone head first into digital painting...giving some photos a dimension that allows for a very unique look.
