"Benton County Courthouse" by Thom Zehrfeld
The Benton County Courthouse is located in Corvallis, Oregon in the Pacific Northwest. It was constructed in 1888.
It is the oldest county courthouse in Oregon still being used for its original function. The structure houses a gigantic clock that until 1953 had to be wound by hand by climbing into the tower twice a week.
Now a small electric motor does the job! The Courthouse is on the National Register of Historic Places.
This image has been converted to High Dynamic Range (HDR) by combining three different exposures to give the image more detail and color, and then incorporating a unique painted effect.
