Description
"Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area" by Thom Zehrfeld
Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area extends out from the Oregon coast one mile into the Pacific Ocean. It was formed by ancient lava flows.
Abundant wildlife such as whales, harbor seals and seabirds can be viewed from the many vantage points on Yaquina Head. There are also many tide pools to explore.
The Yaquina Head Lighthouse and the Visitors Interpretive Center are also focal points. The lighthouse is one of the most visited on the Oregon Coast.
The wildflowers in the foreground set the scene for the lighthouse in the background. Nature is in full balance with ocean and the outcroppings!
This image has been converted to High Dynamic Range by combining three different exposures, and then incorporating the results into a digital painting.
