Description
"River Pilot Station" by Thom Zehrfeld
Thank you for visiting my fine art photography site!
The job of the River Pilots is to guide cargo ships, cruise ships up the treacherous Columbia River channel. Then into adjoining rivers to destination ports.
This starts at the Astoria-Megler Bridge in Astoria which is past the dangerous Columbia River Bar.
This image has been converted to High Dynamic Range (HDR) by combining three different exposures to give the image more detail and color. Texture was added for a unique final image!

Beautiful view of that old tug boat in a dramatic final edit. Very nicely found and captured.
