Description
"Jackson Tower" - Portland, Oregon by Thom Zehrfeld
The Jackson Tower is a historic 12 story office building in downtown Portland,Oregon. It was built in 1912 and was formerly The Oregon Journal Newspaper Building.
It is a structure that is a bit amiss among the modern buildings that surround it. When it was built the builders used glazed terra cotta as the exterior sheathing over the buildings steel frame.
The terra-cotta glaze contributed to keeping the building fireproof through the years. Over the years, the interior has been renovated and has been turned into office space.
This image has been converted to High Dynamic Range (HDR) by combining three different exposures to give the image more detail and color, and then incorporating a unique painted effect.
