"Hawaiian Chieftain Tall Ship" by Thom Zehrfeld
Hawaiian Chieftain is a tall ship which was initially named the "Spirit of Larinda". It was built in Maui in 1988.
The crew pretty much stays with her all year long. They travel from port to port.
They feature tours of the ship and offer short cruises. The capture here was made in Newport on the Oregon Coast.
This image has been converted to High Dynamic Range (HDR) by combining three different exposures to give the image more detail and color, and then incorporating a unique painted effect.

Thom Zehrfeld lives in Newport, Oregon on the Central Coast and, is fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful spots in Oregon! The ocean, the beach, the sea's fresh air naturally inspires his art! There is always something exciting to capture with a camera! However, it's not all seascapes...Thom likes capturing automobiles, trucks, motorcycles. And, he travels many places to do just that!
