Description
"Old Quebec City Funicular" by Thom Zehrfeld
Welcome to my fine art photography site! The Old Quebec Funicular (Center) links Upper Town (Haute-Ville) to Lower Town (Basse-Ville). In Lower Town, you will find the Notre Dame des Victoires church, the historic Petit Champlain district, the Musee de la civilisation (Museum of Civilization) and, the Port.
Of course, the Chateau Frontenac is on top and dominates the skyline. There is also the La Citadelle, an intact fortress that forms the center piece of the ramparts surrounding the old city.
There are two Funicular cars on a double track and, the distance is just a little over 200 feet. Quebec City is the capital of the province of Quebec in Canada.
This image has been converted to High Dynamic Range (HDR) by combining three different exposures to give the image more detail and color, and then incorporating a unique painted effect.
